We're thrilled to share a packed month of improvements that make Skysize more flexible, secure, and user-friendly. Here's what's new.

Smarter Deployment Flow

We've rethought how deployments work to give you more control. Previously, we installed every available module in your repository during initial deployment and automatically updated them all whenever your branch was configured to do so. This sometimes caused issues, not all modules are needed, and misconfigured ones could trigger failed builds.

Now, we take a more intelligent approach: nothing is installed automatically on first deployment. Instead, you choose exactly what you need, and we only update the modules you've explicitly installed. This means faster deployments, fewer unexpected failures, and a setup that truly reflects your needs.

Public Git Submodule Support

Managing modular code just got easier. Skysize now fully supports public Git submodules, giving you greater flexibility in organizing your Odoo projects. While submodules won't trigger deployments themselves, they'll be cloned fresh with every build, ensuring you always have the latest code.

Nested Module Support with Custom Addons Paths

Organizing your Odoo modules just got more flexible. Skysize now supports nested module structures through custom addons paths on each branch. Whether you prefer to organize modules by feature, team, or any other hierarchy, you can now configure a custom addons path per branch to tell Odoo exactly where to find your modules.

This means you can structure your repository however makes sense for your workflow. No more flattening your directory structure to accommodate platform limitations. Simply set your custom addons path in your branch configuration, and Skysize will handle the rest.

Trust Center Launch

Security and compliance matter. We're actively working toward ISO 27001 certification, and we're proud to unveil our new Trust Center at trust.skysize.io. As we move through our audit process, this hub will showcase the security measures and controls we've implemented. Expect it to grow richer with detailed compliance information in the coming weeks.

Revamped Documentation

Knowledge should be easy to find. We've completely rebuilt our documentation from the ground up, now available at docs.skysize.io. This living document will grow alongside our platform with continuous updates, enhanced explanations, and soon screenshots and video tutorials to guide you through every feature.

Expanding Our Global Presence

We've quietly expanded our infrastructure. In September, we launched the Oceania region (based in Sydney, Australia), and we're deploying a new North America region this week. If you'd like to migrate to a region closer to you or your users, simply back up your project, delete it, and recreate it in your preferred region.

What's Next

As we head into November, our team remains focused on completing our ISO 27001 certification while simultaneously working on localization. Soon, Skysize will deliver a native experience in English, French, and Spanish, making our platform truly global.

We appreciate your trust and continued feedback. Here's to a more secure, flexible, and accessible Skysize.
