Odoo experience 2025: Recap

Last week, Brussels once again became the epicenter of the open-source ERP world as thousands of professionals gathered for Odoo Experience 2025. As the founder of Skysize, an Odoo hosting company, for the second consecutive year, I can say that the September 18-20 event at Brussels Expo exceeded all expectations and showcased the incredible evolution of the Odoo ecosystem.

But before diving into my personal experience, let's explore what everyone was buzzing about: the exciting new features coming in Odoo 19.0.

Odoo 19.0: The Most Comprehensive Release Yet

Odoo 19.0 is the first release to truly integrate AI into the entire workflow, representing a significant leap forward in business automation and intelligence.

AI Integration Revolution

The standout feature is the comprehensive AI integration across all modules. AI Agents can chat with virtual assistants that learn from your Odoo data. They don't just answer questions but can also perform actions, such as creating a task, updating a field, or sending an email. For hosting providers like us, this means our clients will benefit from smarter, more automated workflows without requiring complex customizations.

Lead generation via business cards allows you to simply scan a business card, and Odoo automatically creates a new lead with all relevant details, while AI-powered insights calculate win probabilities and provide recommendations on which leads to prioritize.

Enhanced User Experience

The user interface of the calendar view was completely redesigned with some small new features such as the possibility to answer to an event directly from the event popup. New native app for phones featuring faster load times, native notifications, account management, and native widgets for date, time, email, phone, and relational fields will significantly improve mobile user adoption for our hosted clients.

Advanced Analytics and Automation

New cohort view to analyze retention or churn rates over time. Dynamic dashboards with UX inspired by Google Analytics. Dashboards can include any graph, cohort, or KPI. These enhanced reporting capabilities will provide our clients with better insights into their business performance without requiring additional hosting infrastructure.

Financial Management Improvements

Simplified bank reconciliation with OCR reads bank statements, and AI proposes reconciliation entries automatically. A new tax return feature has been introduced, supporting fiscal return obligations and deadlines and automated validation checks to ensure accurate filings. These automation features reduce the processing load on our hosting infrastructure while providing more value to clients.

E-commerce and Website Enhancements

SEO-optimized product pages for rich snippets, Google Merchant Center integration and new layouts & product displays: carousels, grids, extended filters, and better image handling will help our e-commerce clients improve their online presence and sales performance.

ESG and Sustainability Features

One of the most forward-thinking additions is complete emission reports following the GHG Protocol and Bilan Carbone standard. Emission factors: Automatic calculations based on quantity (€ or kg) or imported from certified databases. This positions Odoo ahead of compliance requirements and adds significant value for our enterprise hosting clients.

Skysize's Second Year: Strengthening Our Hosting Community

Attending Odoo Experience for the second year as an Odoo hosting provider felt significantly different from our debut. This year, we arrived as an established member of the hosting community, with a year of successful client migrations and infrastructure optimizations under our belt.

Meeting Our LinkedIn Network

One of the most rewarding aspects was finally meeting face-to-face with many professionals I regularly interact with on LinkedIn. Throughout the year, we've discussed hosting challenges, shared insights about performance optimization, and debated infrastructure best practices. Meeting these connections in Brussels created opportunities for deeper technical discussions about hosting Odoo at scale.

These conversations often led to spontaneous brainstorming sessions about server optimization, backup strategies, and the kind of collaborative problem-solving that makes the Odoo hosting community so valuable.

Community Engagement and Technical Insights

The technical sessions provided early insights into the infrastructure requirements for Odoo 19.0. Understanding the AI integration's resource demands, the enhanced mobile app's server requirements, and the new analytics features' database implications helps us prepare our hosting infrastructure for the upcoming migration wave.

Conversations with other hosting providers revealed innovative approaches to common challenges like automated scaling, disaster recovery, and multi-tenant security. These insights directly benefit our clients through improved service reliability and performance.

Preparing for Odoo 19.0 Hosting Demands

The new AI features and enhanced analytics will likely increase computational demands on hosting infrastructure. As a hosting provider, we're already planning infrastructure upgrades to ensure our clients can seamlessly leverage these new capabilities without performance degradation.

The improved mobile applications and real-time features will require optimized database performance and enhanced network reliability – areas where our hosting expertise becomes crucial for client success.

Looking Ahead: A Great Year in Prospect

As I reflect on our second year at Odoo Experience and look ahead to 2025, I'm excited about the opportunities that lie before Skysize as an Odoo hosting provider.

Enhanced Service Offerings

The new features in Odoo 19.0 create opportunities to expand our hosting services. The AI integration capabilities will require specialized infrastructure optimization, while the enhanced analytics tools will benefit from dedicated reporting environments and optimized database configurations.

Infrastructure Evolution

The technological direction demonstrated in Odoo 19.0 shows that the platform is evolving toward more intelligent, resource-intensive operations. As a hosting provider, we're positioned to help clients navigate this evolution by providing the robust, scalable infrastructure needed to fully leverage these new capabilities.

Community Growth

We're excited to contribute more actively to the Odoo hosting community's knowledge base. Our experience over the past year has shown us the value of sharing infrastructure best practices, and we plan to increase our involvement through technical documentation and community education.

Conclusion: Embracing the Future with Confidence

Odoo 19.0 represents more than just a software update – it's a glimpse into the future of intelligent business operations. For Skysize as a hosting provider, this evolution creates opportunities to deliver more value through specialized infrastructure solutions that enable our clients to fully leverage these advanced capabilities.

The relationships built during Odoo Experience 2025 have strengthened our position in the hosting community and provided insights that will benefit our clients throughout 2025. The transition from digital LinkedIn interactions to face-to-face relationships has reinforced the power of community collaboration in driving hosting innovation and client success.

As we look ahead to 2026, I'm curious to see how the infrastructure demands of Odoo 19.0 will shape the hosting landscape, what new technical challenges will emerge, and how the hosting community will continue to evolve. The future is bright for Odoo hosting providers, and I can't wait to see how it all unfolds.
