Do you need a server in Germany for Odoo?
Often not. Germany and Belgium are both in the EU, so the same GDPR (DSGVO) applies. Moving data between them is not a third-country transfer, so you need no standard contractual clauses and no adequacy decision. You sign a data processing agreement (AVV) with us, as you would with a German host.
Sometimes you do. Some public tenders and regulated sectors ask for hosting in Germany, and some companies have their own policy on it. In that case, use your own server in Germany, or On-Premise.
DATEV, GoBD and e-invoices: German accounting on Skysize
Skysize runs standard Odoo, so Odoo's German accounting works here as it does anywhere. With Odoo Enterprise, you get:

- UStVA VAT returns through ELSTER
- A TSE for your point of sale, through fiskaly
Odoo can also send invoices in XRechnung format over Peppol.
GoBD stays your responsibility as the taxpayer, on any host. Odoo gives you the audit trail. Our backups go back up to 3 months, so download your own copies for the years you must keep them.
We run the hosting. Your Odoo partner or your tax advisor sets up the accounting.
